December 14, 2007

Dean is visiting me in Alexandria,
Virginia where my current travel
nurse assignment is.

Dean WON! the “Iron Chef Cook Off”
at the Wake Forest Farmers Market
this year 2007. He won by 20 votes.
Some of the dishes he whipped up was
Spaghetti Squash Chicken Alfredo yum yum and sauteed long Asian beans ooh!

This fall we have been involved in
plowing and disking up all the garden
spots preparing for planting 600 Strawberry plants next and getting
the soil ready for next Spring. When
items are planted we will need a total of 20 hoop houses built and covered with netting to keep the deer away. They ate all the produce we had in one area. OUCH! 180 tomato plants.

You normally can find Dean at the Wake Forest Farmers Market in downtown Wake Forest on White St. where the gazebo is from 8-12 on Saturdays. We also plan on being at the market downtown Raleigh at Moore Square this coming year on Wednesdays. To see more pictures of our farm to to www.freewebs.com/cedarrockfarm

Welcome to Cedar Rock Farm. My wife,
Tamera and I, run the farm with some occassional help from our 2 daughters and one grandson. We currently have 2 separate farms one small one in Castalia NC and 40 acres in South Boston, Va. We enjoy hatching and raising our own
pasture raised Chickens, Laying Hens, Pheasants and growing organic Shiitake Mushrooms along with many heirloom varieties of vegetables and NOW strawberries! Everything is cared for with natural organic method All of our animals are cared for with lots of TLC allowing them to live naturally
and enjoy their time.

Everyone deserves to eat safe, healthy,
great tasting food especially when it is grown by local farmers and is made available for you!
